What TuneScript is

TuneScript is a language-learning tool built around music. You connect your Spotify account, pick a track, and the app shows the song text alongside a translation and an explanation of what the words mean — metaphors, slang, references, cultural context. You can tap any phrase and ask about it.

It is an independent project run by a private individual in Israel. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Spotify or any music label, publisher, or artist.

Your account

An account requires a Spotify account, and your use of Spotify remains governed by Spotify's own terms. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to hold a Spotify account where you live. One person, one account.

Song texts and who owns them

Song texts belong to their rights holders — the songwriters and their publishers. We do not own them, we do not claim any rights in them, and nothing in the app transfers any rights to you.

TuneScript obtains song texts from publicly accessible sources on the internet and, when nothing can be found, by automatic speech recognition of audio. The result is shown to you as study material inside the app, next to the translation and the analysis. It is provided for your personal language learning only.

Translations produced by the app are derived from the underlying song text and are therefore bound to the rights in that text. Our own contribution — the analysis, the commentary, the interface and the code — is ours.

If you are a rights holder and object to your work appearing in TuneScript, write to offvitja@gmail.com with the track and a description of your rights. We will remove it promptly.

You may not copy material out of the app for publication, redistribution, or any commercial purpose.

Translations and analyses are machine-generated

Everything the app tells you about a song is generated by artificial intelligence. It will sometimes be wrong. It may misread slang, invent a reference that does not exist, misattribute a line, or misjudge tone. When no written text can be found, the words themselves come from machine speech recognition, which mishears — the app marks such texts and shows how much it trusts them.

Do not rely on the app for anything that matters: not for exams, not for professional translation, not for factual claims about an artist. It is a study aid, and you should treat what it says as a starting point, not as a verified fact.

How you may use the service

For personal, non-commercial language learning. Please do not:

• —scrape, bulk-download, or systematically copy content from the app;
• —resell access, or use the app to build a competing dataset or service;
• —attempt to bypass usage limits, break into other accounts, or disrupt the service;
• —use the app in any way that breaks Spotify's terms or the law where you live.

Price and subscriptions

TuneScript is currently free and there is nothing to pay. A paid plan is planned. If it arrives, its price, what it includes, its billing period and its cancellation and refund rules will be shown before you are asked to pay, and no charge will be made without your explicit consent. Free access may be limited when a paid plan appears; we will announce that in the app beforehand.

Availability and changes

This is a small project run by one person. The service may be unavailable, may lose features, or may stop entirely. We may change or discontinue any part of it at any time. Where a change materially affects you, we will try to give notice in the app.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or that harms the service or other users. You can close your own account at any time in Settings.

No warranty and limitation of liability

The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We do not promise that it will be accurate, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose.

To the extent permitted by the law that applies to you, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by these terms.

Your data

How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Israel, and disputes fall to the courts of Tel Aviv-Yafo. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, the UK, or another country whose law gives you the right to bring a claim locally, that right stands regardless of this clause.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version, and significant changes will be announced in the app. Continuing to use TuneScript after a change means you accept it. Questions: offvitja@gmail.com.
